The Golden Globes is the official beginning of award season and though I felt the fashion was disappointing, tragic in some cases, the jewelry was on point! Generally the stars wait until the Oscars to bring out the big bling but last night the carpet shined bright like a diamond, sapphire, and emerald!
Cynthia Erivo may not have won for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in Harriet but she was winning the jewelry game! She donned a Bulgari wreath necklace worth a whopping $3 million. It features a 40-carat cabochon center sapphire, surrounded by 56.65 carats of diamonds and sapphires. Damn! I love her earrings and cuff combo as well!
J. Lo is usually one of my all around favorite people on the red carpet but last night she seriously lost the dress game, I can’t even bring myself to post a photo of that dress, but the jewelry almost made up for it, almost . Draped in diamonds and emeralds by Harry Winston. The choker interlinks 21 emeralds and 56 diamonds to create a unique and she paired it with almost 60 more carats of diamonds and emeralds on her ears, wrists and fingers.
Zoe Deutch wore the hard to wear color on the carpet, yellow, and it paired perfectly with her Harry Winston jewels! The centerpiece was the 58.69 ctw cabochon sapphire necklace hanging from a stunning collection of diamonds. She paired this stunner with matching diamond and sapphire earrings.
We saw a LOT of Gwyenth Paltrow last night as she showed off how the goop lifestyle does the body good. I didn’t love her dress but I did love how she layered her diamond Bulgari necklaces under her dress, very chic styling. It was a lot of diamonds, brown tulle and skin but somehow on her it worked! The simple hair and makeup were key to pulling off this look.
Jennifer Aniston was another dress disappointment for me but her vintage Cartier necklace from Fred Leighton was stunning! Simple and classic just like Jen.
In recent years the men have really stepped up the red carpet game, I was so tired of seeing a classic black tux on a handsome movie star…repeat. This year it wasn’t just the fashion that set the men apart but also the jewelry!
Billy Porter, who always brings it , wore over $2 million in Tiffany & Co. jewels; 11 ct pear shape diamond hanging from 31 round diamonds, a dragonfly brooch and slew of Tiffany & Co. rings.
Jason Moma’s look from Cartier came with his own bodyguard, giggle. He even featured the bodyguard on his Instagram, he was there not to protect Mr. Moma but the Cartier onyx, diamond and emerald pin he was wearing on his green Tom Ford jacket. Moma is often seen wearing a lot of jewelry but I loved that he went with a piece slightly more delicate and with a vintage feel.
Rami Malek also went with Cartier sporting the Juste Un Clou tie pin on his lapel. It was subtle and not too flashy, just enough!
